NEED TO KNOW:

 

NO SCHOOL: WCA will be closed on Monday, February 14th. Staff will not be available/ no livelessons this day. Due to the teachers proctoring the ACT, there will be no virtual classes the week of March 7. The teachers will only be available a limited amount of time on Monday and Tuesday.

 

NO LIVELESSONS: WCA is hosting a Family Feud Day on February 9th. Livelessons will be cancelled this day.

 

SPRING STATE TESTING: State testing letters will be mailed with report cards the week of January 31. Please look for the colored paper for the information about your student's requirements. You can also access more information about the testing description HERE and a list of the testing dates/locations HERE.

 

SPRING PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Parents are reminded that WCA teachers will have extended hours on Tuesday, March 1 (3:30 – 7:00PM). The purpose of these hours is to offer Caretakers and Learning Coaches an opportunity to discuss the student's progress.

SEMESTER ONE REPORT CARDS: First Semester Report cards will be mailed out the week of January 31, 2022. You will also be able to see them digitally by logging into your Connexus account and clicking on the Report Card Link when you are in the grades section for your student. If you don't receive your student's report card by the end of the following week, please reach out and contact the school.

 

THOMAS SCULLEN SCHOLARSHIP: During the 2007-2008 school year, the WCA Governance Board established the WCA Thomas G. Scullen Memorial Scholarship in honor of Appleton Area School District’s former superintendent. To learn more about the Thomas Scullen Scholarship: THOMAS S SCHOLARSHIP

OPEN ENROLLMENT: Do you know someone interesting in enrolling at WCA for the 2022-23 school year? Learn more about the open enrollment window here: OPEN ENROLLMENT

 

OPEN ENROLLMENT INFO SESSIONS: WCA will be hosting Open Enrollment Information Sessions during the months of January through April. Staff from WCA will be present at these meetings to discuss schooling in a virtual format, review the standards-based curriculum, look at the school’s on-line learning system, and answer questions. If you know someone interested in attending WCA, please encourage them to attend a session. The current list of sessions can be found here: INFO SESSIONS

 

SITE-BASED CLUBS: WCA is now offering site-based clubs, available only to WCA students. To learn more about the club offerings - check out the club page: CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

VIRTUAL CLASSES: All WCA students are required to participate in virtual classes. Your child can access the VIRTUAL CLASS SCHEDULES in the student hub: Click their grade band - then the schedule can be found under "Helpful Links." SAVE YOUR MATH WORK!: In order to better assist your child in math, it is helpful for the teachers to view the daily math work. Therefore, all daily work will need to be submitted to the teacher at the end of each unit. If all the daily work is received, full credit will be awarded.
