NEED TO KNOW:

FALL BREAK: There will be no virtual classes the week of October 17. On Monday thru Thursday, the teachers will be reaching out to individual students to talk about how school is going in their classes. Fall break for students is Friday, October 21 and Monday, October 24. The staff will not be available during Fall Break.

ELECTIVE SIGN UP: Electives give the student another opportunity to expand upon their core academic studies. For more information, please visit: ELECTIVE SIGN UP

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: WCA teachers will have extended hours October 13 (3:30—7:00 pm) for Parent/Teacher Conferences. The purpose of these extended hours is to offer you an evening opportunity to discuss your child’s progress. Watch for more information from your teacher about sign up.

INDEPENDENT READING: What is independent reading? Why is it important? How can I determine my child's level? Click the following link for answers: INDEPENDENT READING

VIRTUAL CLASSES: All WCA students are required to participate in virtual classes. Your child can access the VIRTUAL CLASS SCHEDULES in the student hub: Click their grade band - then the schedule can be found under "Helpful Links." For more information on virtual class attendance, please click: ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES

FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE: In comes fall, and with it we start seeing flu season. For more facts about influenza, click: INFLUENZA FAQ

LAWERENCE HOMEWORK HELP: The Volunteers in Tutoring at Lawrence (VITAL) program serves K-12 grade students in the Appleton Area School District. They are currently accepting requests for the 2022-23 school year and will assign tutors on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, visit: VITAL PROGRAM

CLASSLINK: Reminder, our district uses a product called ClassLink. ClassLink is a “Single Single-On” that allows you to get into all the websites you use most with one click log in. For details on accessing your district login information, go to: CLASSLINK INFORMATION

SAVE YOUR MATH WORK!: In order to better assist your child in math, it is helpful for the teachers to view the daily math work. Therefore, all daily work will need to be submitted to the teacher at the end of each unit. If all the daily work is received, full credit will be awarded.
