STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

WHO THEY ARE

ATHENA RAGHEB

8th Grade

"I've always been into drawing but was always too scared to show my work to people, due to anxiety. But after my best friend found out about my drawings, she told me that people would like them a lot. So decided to trust her. After a while I began drawing more and more, letting my feelings take over as I drew, and I eventually started showing my drawings to people. Drawing helps me most when I'm feeling upset or angry, which makes it sort of like art therapy for me. Everyone seems to like my drawings, which makes me really happy! I draw many different things, and no art piece I make looks like any other I've made, which is why they're all unique. I like the fact that all of my drawings are different, because it lets me take features of old drawings that I love, and turn them all into another art piece. I draw all the time and take requests from my friends to turn them into drawings. I can draw anime-like drawings when I try, which is why I ended up drawing Deku! It has turned out to be one of my favorite drawings yet!" -Athena
